Your eyes are the holes that suck in your need

A wonderful piece in the new issue of The Cunningham Amendment.

We’ve all been like saps buying into pension funds, mortgage trackers and obediently paying taxes to the state. They’ve taken the very clothes from our backs. They have left us for dead. Meanwhile big men in red braces have cleaned up and moved on.

CAMBRIDGE DEMO - THE FACTS

Cambridge rowers ask the queen to kill or remove  Mr.Asbo – instead her majesty practices overnight rendition, moves the swan 60 miles away and clips its wings.

Cambridge Animal Rights organises action in support of the swan and against the Bumps on June 16th

Class war decides to organise separate march on  the 16th  -  WHO’S RIVER -OUR RIVER.  Now listen:   We contact the police to get permission for the route  and the march. This is given so we have a perfectly legal march and agreed route.

Actual GCSE Question: ‘Why would people discriminate against Jews?’

Tags

, , , , , ,

On the radio this morning they were discussing a contentious question that was in a recent religious education exam - Why would people discriminate against Jews? How is a 15 year old expected to answer a question like that – the question cannot be given justice in a brief answer.

It opens up the door for easy answers for stereotyping or even the promotion of anti semitism. Coincidently I have actually been reading about the conspiracy theories to which a lot of anti semitism is rooted, and it’s a lot deeper than I’m sure the GCSE syllabus covers.

The Protocols of the Elders of Zion is a document transcribing the minutes of an alleged meeting of Jews, published in Russia in 1903. It is a forgery and a hoax, written in 1891 but many groups have taken it as fact and have based their hatred around it. It’s amazing how many groups based on hatred are happy to hear what suits their own political agenda.

Whilst I agree that ‘Why would people discriminate against Jews?’ is a good philosophical question but not one that can be given justice by a brief answer by a 15 year old, unless they write

Any discrimination is based on ignorance and stupidity.

Jubilee train breaks down & the economy shrinking is there a connection?

Yes – the fucking ‘God Bless Her ‘ Queen, a symbol for everything wrong in this country – priviledge, and staus based on tradition and wealth. The Queen gets her jubilee moniker stuck on the train and it doesn’t work, the Tories get their moniker stuck on the economy it doesn’t work.

It’s time for a change and that time is hopefully sooner then you think. I will be there on Sunday 3rd July 2012, joining the thousands, voicing dissent at the monarchy, at the Republic Demo; and I will be there on Saturday 16th June, joining the thousands voicing dissent at the traditional priviledged status that Cambridge has, at the Class War demo.

Come to both, all are invited.

Vince Cable – Is being called a ‘Socialist’, actually a term of abuse?

Tags

Venture capitalist Adrian Beecroft has labelled Vince Cable as a socialist, in a rant against Mr Cable’s common sense approach in labelling the plan, which would enable small firm to easily sack individuals, as nonsense.

Adrian ‘Bastard’ Beecroft contnued his tirade by saying:

I think he is a socialist who found a home in the Lib Dems, so he’s one of the Left. I think people find it very odd that he’s in charge of business and yet appears to do very little to support business.

‘Bastard’ Beecroft also accused Nick Clegg of always

threatening to go nuclear and dissolve the whole thing if he doesn’t get his way with this, that and the other

I think we have all grasped now that the economy isn’t growing as people haven’t got any fucking money, and fear for their jobs. How is making job security even weaker going to assist grow the economy. Wait a minute it would mean that ‘Bastard’ Beecroft could make even more money……ah I get it now.

Vince Cable how dare you stop ‘Bastard’ Beecroft exploit the workforce.

Oh how the rich form an orderley queue to die!

Yes it’s official, Mount Everest has the most dangerous queue in the world. Whilst Chomolungma, the Chinese name for Everest meaning Holy Mother, is the pinnacle for most experianced climbers, it has also become a folly for the rich. As long as you can afford it, you will be assigned to a Sherpa who will literally drag you up the mountain in order so you can stand on the highest point in the world.

However the amount of people attempting to summit means that you have to queue at certain points, not only to get up but also to get down, often standing around for up to 2 hours in the death zone; your brain is literally dying at these altitudes.

Not only are deaths increasing on the summit but also the litter; rubbish, empty gas cylinders and abandoned tents are now common sight. What once was an aspirational feat only attempted by the most experianced adventurers, has now been devalued to a high end package tour.

A few books I have read about Chomolungma describe how teh Sherpas offer a prayer to the mountain before they climb and treat the mountain with the uttermost respect.

Perhaps the mountain is beginning to retaliate against all those who don’t!

Milliband in the same ball park but not really sure what game is being played.

Good ole Ed has criticised the Government for snobbery when it comes to vocational courses. He has said:

Ministers should show as much respect for young people whose skills secure them an apprenticeship as those who win places at university.

It’s unfortunate Ed, that whilst there is snobbery it doesn’t just stop at vocational courses. There is snobberey to which university you go to, there is snobbery to which course you take, and the same goes with colleges. It’s no good Labour moaning about this as they started the snobbery by increasing the number of places available at university ‘so everybody can go’, which in turn diminished the importance of apprenticeships, and practicle work experience. All that has happened is you have far more people on the dole with a degree but £25k worth of debt as well. That was a plan that was well worked out!

You could now argue that tuition fees have been introduced not only to enable the Univesities to cope with the increasing numbers, but also to use this as a means to exclude those from poorer backgrounds.

Labour wanted to give people equal opportunities but instead have created more inequalities as a result, and helped create a system that still favours the wealthy.

John Terry: guilty says David Cameron

Tags

David Cameron has been caught stating that John Terry had said “some very bad things” at the G8 conference.

I don’t like John Terry , and believe he is a nasty piece of work but I do believe in having a fair trial. When the PM is commenting on your guilt it doesn’t bode well. It again shows how Cameron doesn’t really think about the consequences of his actions.

How important is it to get to know your neighbours!

Tags

,

In this age of social mobility, with many people moving away from where they originally grew up, has this caused the decline of neighbourhoods but it doesn’t have to. On Friday my neighbour introduced me to her ‘driver’ (it’s a long story) but introduced me as family. What a fantastic honour, a older generation jamaican classing me as family, and it got me thinking about community and is it important nowadays.

We know a lot of people in our street, and through local activist groups, a lot of people in the area; it’s made South Norwood a real home for us. I do believe if you have a connection with your area and generally care for then it generates respect etc… Ask what you can do for your area and nor what it can do for you type mentatlity. A home isn’t just bricks and mortar (thats a building) and a home isn’t about possessions (although short term leasing is making this more and more difficult) but it’s the canvas for your life. All the people around you add to it, the local shops add to it but if you don’t make the effort it will remain blank.

An area wealth shouldn’t just be judged on affluence but on the cohesive bonds that link it all together.
